While most enemies in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 either remain stationary or make a beeline for your party, the elusive Pétanks will stop at nothing to make sure you can’t catch them. These skittish foes drop some valuable items when defeated, so you’ll want to corner and eliminate them before they can get away.

Keep an eye out for locking areas
Pétanks are almost always found in enclosed open areas, giving them many escape routes. However, these places will always have a locking area that allows you to trap the Pétank. By corralling a Pétank into a locking area, you will prevent it from escaping and be able to attack it.

Fighting a Pétank is a race against time
You have a limited number of turns to defeat a Pétank once a battle begins. The Pétank will use ranged and melee attacks as well as summon extra Nevrons to aid it in battle. Be sure to use your strongest attacks/Skills and make use of the Break system to deal as much damage within the allotted time. The orb in a Pétank’s chest isn’t a shootable weak point, so it would be best to save your Action Points (AP) for other Skills instead.

If you run out of turns and the Pétank escapes, resting at an Expedition Flag will cause it to respawn. Defeated Pétanks won’t respawn, so farming them is not possible.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is available for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X|S.
