With so many cases of cheating in Monster Hunter Wilds’ first time-based Competition Quest “Doshaguma of the Hollow,” Capcom has decided to change the conditions for obtaining the quest rewards. Where players once needed to be in the top 10,000 to receive the Doshaguma: Mark of Mastery Pendant, they now only need to complete the quest with a Rank ‘A’ time.
Noting that the Doshaguma of the Hollow quest reward prerequisites are easier to complete, Capcom states that future time-based Challenge Quests will not include specific leaderboard ranking rewards (the rankings will still be visible to all players). This is to disincentivize cheating and allow more players to obtain the cosmetics.
Speaking of cheating, Capcom is also looking into Arena Quest and Challenge Quest clear times and will delete unnatural and obviously fraudulent records. Those whose records have been deleted will be suspended or banned and will not receive the associated rewards. The final ranking results for time-based quests will be posted one to two weeks after the quest ends, during which any unnatural records will be excluded. The associated rewards will be given soon after.
A hotfix patch scheduled for April 15 at 7 pm PT is set to fix several Monster Hunter Wilds issues, including fixes for Arena Quests and Challenge Quests, as well as the dreaded “no hair + eyebrows” crash bug. The full patch notes can be found here.
Monster Hunter Wilds is available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam).
