Wizardry Variants Daphne is finally out on Steam with cross-platform and controller support

On March 6, Drecom released the Steam version of Wizardry Variants Daphne, the latest entry to the Wizardry series.

Drecom just released the PC version of Wizardry Variants Daphne, the latest entry in the Wizardry series. The game is available on Steam in English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese.

Initially launching for iOS and Android in October last year, Wizardry Variants Daphne is a free-to-play 3D dungeon crawling RPG. In typical Wizardry fashion, you make your way through the Abyss’s dungeons as you level up your party, replenish stocks in towns, fight battles and collect items.  According to Drecom, Variants Daphne’s key feature is its completely first-person perspective, which ups the realism of monster attacks, floor traps and other aspects of dungeon exploration.

The mobile version of the game has seen much success so far, exceeding Drecom’s expectations in terms of revenue

The Steam version is playable in landscape mode (1920×1080 px) and comes with controller support. If you’ve been playing either of the game’s mobile versions, you can link up your existing account to the PC version with all your progress intact. To commemorate the Steam release of Wizardry Variants Daphne, Drecom is giving out 2,000 Gems of Org to all players.

As an aside, Wizardry Variants Daphne boasts an impressive development team, with Fire Emblem and Pokémon artist Yusuke Kozaki in charge of character design and game OST legend Hitoshi Sakamoto composing the music. In addition, the title’s monster designs are credited to Katsuya Terada of Zelda and Tekken fame.

Wizardry Variants Daphne is out now on PC (Steam), iOS and Android.
