Shift Up’s jiggle physics shooter Goddess of Victory: NIKKE grosses over $1 billion on mobile alone

Goddess of Victory: NIKKE, developed by Stellar Blade's Shift Up, has grossed over $1 billion on mobile platforms alone as of February.

After launching on Android and iOS devices in November 2022, Goddess of Victory: NIKKE, developed by Stellar Blade‘s creators Shift Up, surpassed the $1 billion revenue mark on mobile purchases on February 15, 2025 (as reported by PocketGamer.biz). While the recent Valentine’s Day events didn’t cause a noteworthy increase in player spending, Shift Up’s generosity in designing the gacha game and dedication to player satisfaction has created a lot of goodwill with the playerbase.

According to the mobile market intelligence application AppMagic, mobile purchases for Goddess of Victory: Nikke on the Google Play and App Store reached their all-time high during the game’s launch month, with $106.8 million earned in November 2022. The second-best month for the game came in December 2022, with $68.4 million spent on mobile purchases.

Goddess of Victory: Nikke usually sees an uptick in its player count and player spending during its anniversary events. This is likely due to the free rewards and availability of strong SSR Nikkes like Red Hood and Cinderella. During its first anniversary on November 2023, Goddess of Victory: Nikke saw a 93% increase in player spending which resulted in $44.9 million earned in mobile purchases for that month. The second anniversary event held on November 2024 produced similar results, as mobile purchases reached $50.4 million.

AppMagic data reveals that the majority who spend money on Goddess of Victory: Nikke’s mobile version are Japanese players. 58% of lifetime mobile spending comes from Japan, amounting to $592.3 million in total. Even the United States and South Korean markets, which come in second place with 17% lifetime mobile spending (roughly $175.4 million) and third place with 17% (roughly $170.8 million) respectively, can’t come close to Japan’s numbers when combined.

A second collaboration event between Neon Genesis Evangelion and Goddess of Victory: Nikke is currently ongoing, where players can take part in Evangelion-inspired quests, game modes, and stories. Three new Nikkes: Asuka Shikinami Langley: WILLE, Rei Ayanami (Tentative Name), and Sakura Suzuhara will also be available alongside returning Evangelion Nikkes Asuka Shikinami Langley, Rei Ayanami, Mari Makinami Illustrious, and Misato Katsuragi from the previous Evangelion collaboration event
