Monster Hunter Wilds gets benchmark for checking PC performance on Steam
Capcom just released a benchmark tool for the upcoming Monster Hunter Wilds. It can be accessed for free via the game’s Steam store page.
The benchmark tool allows you to check if and how well Monster Hunter Wilds will run on your PC with its current specs, so those planning on purchasing the Steam version will benefit from using it to check their system’s performance. The download requires around 29GB of free space.
Once installed and running, the benchmark tool will score your system based on the following scale:
Score | Details |
---|---|
20000 ~ | Excellent |
13000 ~ 19999 | Good |
10250 ~ 12999 | Playable |
7000~10249 | Setting Changes Recommended |
5200~6999 | Setting Changes Required |
~ 5199 | Difficulty Playing |
The benchmark may not be able to run at all if your PC doesn’t meet the game’s minimum system requirements.
Last year’s Monster Hunter Wilds’ open beta test left many players concerned about the game’s optimization, as they ran into various performance-related issues (including the somewhat amusing “origami monsters”). However, the development team has explained that significant improvements are being made to both the game’s graphics and performance modes, and assured fans that the official release will run a lot better.
Capcom also announced that Monster Hunter Wilds’ will be getting a second, bigger open beta test starting February 6, but it’s important to note that since optimization and other improvements are being made with the game’s final release in mind, they will not be fully reflected in the second OBT.
Monster Hunter Wilds is scheduled to be released on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam) on February 28.
