Pokémon TCG Pocket player shares outcome of hitting the game’s daily spending limit every day since release
Japanese YouTuber Hajimesyacho revealed on January 19 that he has been hitting the daily spending limit in Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket every day since the game released on October 30, 2024. This has allowed him to amass a whopping 50,000 cards in the game.
To limit players’ daily pulls, Pokémon TCG Pocket imposes an upper spending limit of 720 Poke Gold per day, which means that you can spend a maximum of around $120 on microtransactions daily (or about 14,000 yen in Japan). Hajimeshacho did so for over 80 days, which would imply that he’s spent well over 1.12 million yen on the game so far. It seems this is the amount needed if you want to assemble a 50-thousand-card collection in Pokémon TCG Pocket in less than three months.
On the other hand, The YouTuber’s viral post about his lavish Pokémon spending spree prompted some interesting comparisons – players who have been playing the game diligently every day since its release without spending any real money reported having collected between 1,000 and 1,300 card for roughly the same period.
The Pokémon Company recently revealed that Pokémon TCG Pocket players from all over the world have collected a total of 40 billion cards. The game has been making headlines for its impressive revenue ever since its release, and the Japanese player base has been a particularly large contributor to its earnings. It’s kind of weird knowing how big a stake a singular Japanese YouTuber probably had in the overall figures.
