Palworld roadmap reveals plans to add crossplay and final boss
To commemorate Palworld’s first Early Access anniversary on Steam, Pocketpair made several announcements regarding their survival/monster-taming game. First, a worldwide survey in which players can vote for their favorite Pals and faction leaders is now up on the official Palworld website. Second, the entire Palworld soundtrack (composed by Tatsuya Nano) can now be listened to for free on the Pocketpair YouTube channel. Last and most important of all, Pocketpair released a roadmap for Palworld leading up to the game’s official release.
While optimization improvements and bug fixes are much appreciated, many players will be glad to learn that Pocketpair will be integrating co-op crossplay and world transfers for Pals, further streamlining Palworld’s cooperative experience. Palworld is a multiplatform game, so being able to play with friends regardless of which system you own or whose world you are in is a welcome feature.
Another piece of upcoming content that comes as a surprise is the proposed addition of a final boss and ending scenario. Palworld isn’t meant to be a live service title, but some players are understandably upset that the game will reportedly have an ending. On the other hand, others are taking the inclusion of the final boss and ending scenario into the roadmap as a sign that Palworld will be released soon.
Apart from these big features, content updates will include new Pals and technologies, as well as more ways to strengthen and improve both the current and upcoming roster of Pals. Collaborations with other franchises like Terraria are also planned, giving rise to the possibility that Pocketpair will be teaming up with other survival/crafting game studios to allow fans of the genre to represent their favorite games.
Palworld is available in Early Access on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Its most recent major update, Feybreak, released on December 23, 2024.
