Tales of Graces f Remastered helped save Japanese support studio Tose from financial struggle

Bandai Namco Entertainment released Tales of Graces f Remastered today. It was also revealed that prolific Japanese support studio Tose was responsible for the remaster’s development (as reported by GameBiz).

Although Tose has over 40 years’ experience developing games with major companies like Nintendo and Square Enix, they suffered significant losses after a spate of games were cancelled by clients last year. However, Tose recently revealed that they had rebounded, reporting 160.9% growth in their console and PC game sector.

According to Tose, this is the result of numerous development projects progressing according to plan and achieving stable profit margins. It seems that Tales of Graces f Remastered was one of the titles that helped the studio back from the brink.

The first game to be released as part of the Tales of series’ 30th Anniversary project, Tales of Graces f Remastered brings updated visuals and QoL improvements such as auto-save, various skip functions and the option to disable enemy encounters to the 2010 original. According to the Tales of IP’s general producer Yusuke Tomizawa, fans can look forward to consistent releases of remasters from the classic RPG series, even if they are not in chronological order.

Tales of Graces f Remastered is available now on the Nintendo Switch, PS4/PS5 and Xbox Series X❘S/Xbox One. The PC (Steam) version will come out on January 17.
