Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii will get free New Game+ update

On January 10, Sega dropped a new RGG Like a Dragon Direct video revealing what players can expect from Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, which is due out on February 21. One notable point is that the game’s New Game+ will be available as a free post-release patch.

The previous game in the series, Infinite Wealth, garnered criticism from fans for having its New Game+ mode only available to those who bought the more expensive deluxe or ultimate editions of the game. Those who got the standard edition had to purchase it as paid DLC. However, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii’s NG+ will be available for free.

More details about Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii’s free New Game+ patch, such as when it will be downloadable and what content will await players in NG+, will be revealed at a later date.

In addition to the NG+ revelation, the pun-packed RGG Like a Dragon Direct broadcast also revealed more about the game’s two combat styles (Mad Dog and Sea Dog), ship customization, crew recruitment, naval battles, preorder bonuses and more.

Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii is scheduled to be released for PS4/PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam) on February 21.
