Helltaker creator’s new game Awaria to get macOS and Linux builds, with beta versions now available on Itch
After releasing his new maintenance tunnel management/ ghost dating sim game Awaria on Windows earlier this week, Helltaker creator Lukasz Piskorz (known by his online handle vanripper) is now bringing Awaria to macOS and Linux users. Piskorz is currently working on the builds, with DRM-free betas for both operating systems now available on the indie game distribution site Itch.io.
Awaria’s 32-bit and 64-bit Windows versions are also available on Piskorz’s Itch page if you don’t want to download the game via Steam. The macOS and Linux beta versions are currently exclusive to Itch, with Steam testing coming soon. Piskorz highly encourages macOS and Linux beta testers to let him know how Awaria plays on their operating systems and to report any issues or bugs they come across.
Awaria is a short game in which you repair generators while avoiding female ghosts that want to kill you. Fixing generators requires you to deliver specific parts, some of which must be crafted at certain machines in the levels. Awaria requires quite a bit of time management and route planning, as well as the reflexes to avoid getting hit by ghosts. It isn’t impossible, however, and the soundtrack by Mittsies (the same person who composed Piskorz’s previous game Helldiver) makes working in haunted maintenance tunnels a blast.
Awaria is available on PC (Windows) from Steam and Itch.io. MacOS and Linux beta builds are available on Itch, with Steam versions soon to follow.
