RE:Choice is a Persona-inspired RPG where you loop time to save your favorite live streamer

If you ever thought that Persona games don’t give you enough time to experience all of their content, then RE:Choice might be up your alley. Developed and published by Japanese indie creator Yukiarrr, RE: Choice is a time loop RPG where you relive the same ten days over and over alongside an oddball duck companion, all while investigating the inevitable disappearance of your favorite online streamer.

Much like the Persona games, RE:Choice allows you to spend those ten days however you wish. You can skateboard around town, talk to characters to improve your relationships, or delve into other people’s memories to discover what they know about the impending crime.

RE: Choice

As it turns out, the game’s protagonist has the power to enter a “world of memories,” where mechanical monsters roam. Instead of summoning a Persona, however, you’ll be using good old guns to take out these enemies. Those who aren’t big fans of shooting games need not worry, as RE:Choice has both an automatic lock-on and an unlimited pause function. This allows you to approach combat in a more turn-based and less reaction-heavy way if you prefer to.

Defeating monsters and viewing others’ memories isn’t enough to uncover the mystery of your favorite streamer’s disappearance. You will need to take the information gained from the world of memories back to the real world and do some traditional sleuthing of your own. RE:Choice will have you negotiating with characters, sneaking into off-limits areas, and doing things no normal teenage boy should be, all in the name of justice and possibly unrequited love

RE: Choice

After experiencing RE: Choice’s ten days for the first time, your character will be brought back to the first day with all their memories intact. This opens new story paths that weren’t initially available. Routinely experiencing the time loop will allow you to unravel the mystery behind the live streamer’s disappearance, as well as the origins of the world of memories and the monsters that inhabit it. According to Yukiarrr, choices that were not available in the first playthrough will become available in the second.

RE:Choice is ultimately a game about defying fate. Seeing as Yukiarr’s favorite video game is Persona 5 Royal, RE:Choice wears a lot of its inspiration on its sleeves.

RE:Choice is currently in development by Yukiarr alongside outsourced developers he hires via his Game Creators Camp page. It will be released on PC via Steam at an unspecified date.
