Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles 2 to launch in 2025 with all 9 Hashira as playable characters
Aniplex has announced that Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles 2 will be launching simultaneously worldwide in 2025 for the PC (Steam), PS4/PS5, Nintendo Switch and Xbox One/Xbox Series X❘S. An announcement trailer was released on December 9.
The Hinokami Chronicles 2 is a sequel to CyberConnect2’s 2021 fighting game based on the hit anime and manga series Demon Slayer. According to Aniplex, the sequel’s Solo Play Mode will continue from where protagonist Tanjiro’s story left off, covering the anime’s Entertainment District, Swordsmith Village and Hashira Training story arcs.
The Versus (PvP) Mode will include all characters and demons from the previous title (including those added through free updates and paid DLC) as well as various new playable characters, including Muichiro Kanroji and Mitsuri Kanroji. All nine Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps will be available as playable characters.
The Hinokami Chronicles was the first console game based on the Demon Slayer IP, and it has enjoyed significant popularity, selling over 4 million copies worldwide. Rumors that a sequel was in development have been floating around for a long time, but Demon Slayer fans can finally rejoice now that The Hinokami Chronicles 2 has a launch window.
Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles 2 is scheduled to launch simultaneously worldwide in 2025 for the PC (Steam), PS4/PS5, Nintendo Switch and Xbox One/Xbox Series X❘S. A demo event for the game will be held at the Jump Festa 2025 on December 21 and 22, 2024.
