New Monster Hunter open-world survival game will be free-to-play with paid content, devs confirm
Capcom and Tencent-owned TiMi Studio Group just announced Monster Hunter Outlanders, a new mobile game in the Monster Hunter series. The upcoming title is an open-world survival game that will blend the franchise’s traditional hunting experience with exploration, survival and crafting.
Outlanders’ developers have confirmed in an interview with Famitsu that the upcoming title will be free-to-play, with paid content planned. They also commented that the new entry will adapt Monster Hunter’s controls, stats and UI for a seamless playing experience on mobile devices. In its current stage of development, Monster Hunter Outlanders supports co-op play for up to four people and includes five weapon types.
The announcement trailer for Monster Hunter Outlanders showcases the game’s open world, action and an air glider – one of the modes of transport that will allow players to quickly navigate the game field.
