Switch games will be playable on Nintendo’s new console, CEO confirms 

Nintendo’s CEO Shuntaro Furukawa announced on November 6 that software for the Nintendo Switch will be playable on its successor. In addition, the new console will also support Nintendo Switch Online. The original statement is as follows:

This is Furukawa. At today’s Corporate Management Policy Briefing, we announced that Nintendo Switch software will also be playable on the successor to Nintendo Switch. Nintendo Switch Online will be available on the successor to Nintendo Switch as well. Further information about the successor to Nintendo Switch, including its compatibility with Nintendo Switch, will be announced at a later date.”

Furukawa also recently confirmed that Nintendo will be sticking to its initial plan of announcing the Switch’s successor within the current fiscal year, meaning sometime before March 31, 2025 (source: Reuters).
