RPG Maker With’s PS4 and PS5 versions to launch with cross-platform asset sharing with Switch version

Gotcha Gotcha Games announced today that RPG Maker With will be coming to PS4 and PS5 in Japan on January 31, with a global release planned for later in 2025. What’s more, the PlayStation versions of the game-making software will allow cross-platform asset sharing with the recently released Nintendo Switch version, which came out in English on October 11.

RPG Maker With turn based battles

RPG Maker With is the latest installment in Gotcha Gotcha Games’ long-running RPG Maker series of game creation tools. It features all the game creation features from previous installments- this time optimized for consoles. This includes an improved map editor which can be used in widescreen, easier screen-switching and lots of sample data for beginners to reference when creating their own RPG.

RPG Maker With’s biggest new feature is Asset Sharing- allowing users to import maps, characters and objects created by others into their game via the internet. What’s more, this feature will be available across different platforms, allowing PlayStation users to import assets created by Switch users and vice versa. This will doubtless encourage even more creativity.

At the moment, RPG Maker comes with a whole host of fantasy and sci-fi themed maps, characters and music. Gotcha Gotcha Games have also revealed that they are planning to offer even more materials in DLC packs further down the line.

As a side note, Gotcha Gotcha Games’ more advanced game creating tool, Action Game Maker, is also coming in 2025 and will even let users port their creations between console platforms

RPG Maker With is out now on Nintendo Switch. The PS4/PS5 versions are scheduled to be released on January 30, 2025 (Japan), with the Global version coming later.
