Silent Hill Historical Society website launches, complete with hardcore quiz and hidden pages

In the run up to the Silent Hill 2 remake’s October 8 release, an ominous website has popped up. Made by creative group Daiyonkyokai (The Fourth Boundary) in collaboration with Konami Digital Entertainment, the site for Silent Hill Historical Society offers all kinds of information in both English and Japanese for eager fans and Silent Hill veterans alike- plus some creepy secret pages.

Silent Hill 2 remake

Silent Hill Historical Society’s website looks convincingly like a real-life preservation organization’s website in a sleepy North American town, albeit with a foreboding gray color scheme (but gray’s in fashion, right?). There’s a “Message from the Director,” information on recent exhibits, maps, timelines and pages on the history of landmarks like Brookhaven Hospital. Recent news announcements show that in the past few months, the society has stopped accepting applications for staff and materials- but I’m sure everything is fine over there- after all, “Silent Hill is renowned as a peaceful resort town.”

If you can’t wait to encounter the town’s undead residents in Silent Hill 2 remake, why not test your knowledge of the fog-drenched town? The website offers two tests– a standard Silent Hill Test and a rather hardcore advanced level quiz.

The Silent Hill Historical Society website also features a whole bunch of hidden pages. Some of these are cheerful and offer you helpful advice for exploring Silent Hill, others are a little disturbing and hint at the tragic fates that befell members of the Society’s staff. Check it out if you dare!

Silent Hill 2 is scheduled to be released on October 8 on PC (Steam) and PS5. The game’s producer has previously discussed how Bloober Team and the original devs have worked together to bring this psychological horror classic back to life
