Wizardry series’ latest title will get a Steam release and OST by legendary Final Fantasy composer Hitoshi Sakimoto. Mobile pre-registrations now open

Pre-registrations for Wizardry Variants Daphne, the latest entry in Drecom’s Wizardry series, have opened as of August 15. The title’s official website and App Store/Google Play pages are now live, with a reward campaign awaiting those who pre-register.

Wizardry Variants Daphne is a free-to-play 3D dungeon RPG scheduled to launch in October 2024 for iOS and Android, with a Steam version planned down the line. In a familiar Wizardry fashion, players will make their way through dungeons known as the Abyss as they level their character, stock up in towns, engage in battles and collect items.

In Wizardry Variants Daphne, players can form parties of up to six characters (including themselves) to fight against enemies. Featuring a command-based system, the game promises highly strategic battles with plenty of room to make use of skills and spells. It has a vertical screen layout and can thus be played in portrait mode.

At the end of last year, Wizardry Variants Daphne held a closed beta test which gained plenty of positive responses. Based on feedback received during the beta, the developers have been working on resolving issues and expanding the game’s content, which has now reached the pre-registration stage.

Wizardry Variants Daphne boasts an impressive team too, with Fire Emblem and Pokémon artist Yusuke Kozaki in charge of character design and game OST legend Hitoshi Sakamoto composing the game’s music. In addition, the title’s monster designs are credited to Katsuya Terada of Zelda and Tekken fame.
