FromSoftware’s financial report suggests drop in profit, but Armored Core 6 surpassed forecasts and Elden Ring continues to contribute to revenue
Kadokawa Corporation published FromSoftwares’s financial statements for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2024 via Japan’s government gazette (as reported by GameBiz).
According to the latest statements, the developer saw a decrease in both net sales and net profit throughout the past fiscal year. Net sales were down by 29% to 15,509 million yen, and net income was down by 54.4% to 3,984 million yen compared to the previous fiscal year. However, this decline seems to be due to the previous fiscal period being exceptionally good for FromSoftware, as it started shortly after the release of the company’s global hit Elden Ring.
In addition, according to GameBiz, Kadokawa (FromSoftware’s parent company) states that Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon performed better than expected both in Japan and overseas, and that Elden Ring continued to make significant contributions to revenue. Armored Core 6 recently celebrated 3 million units sold worldwide, a milestone reached in less than a year. Elden Ring is not losing momentum either, as it recently successfully launched its Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. Sales of the expansion will be reflected at the end of the ongoing fiscal period.
