Kaiju No. 8 anime to get a free-to-play PC/mobile game 

Akatsuki Games and Production I.G announced a video game based on the Kaiju No.8 (Monster No.8) anime series on June 16. Tentatively entitled Kaiju No.8 The Game, the upcoming free-to-play title will be released for PC and mobile. 

Based on the popular action manga series by Naoya Matsumoto, the Kaiju No. 8 anime started airing in April 2024, meeting with positive reception and topping charts on local streaming platforms. The story follows Kafka Hibino, a typical office worker who gains superhuman powers after his body is invaded by a Kaiju. With the ability to turn into giant monster himself, Kafka joins the Defense Force dedicated to neutralizing Kaiju.

Kaiju No.8 The Game is being planned, produced and developed by Akatsuki Games. Specifics about gameplay have yet to be revealed, but the title will be free-to-play and include microtransactions. 

Kaiju No.8 The Game is planned to launch for the PC (Steam), iOS and Android.

  1. I wish companies would detail how the MTX works on the F2P rather than being obscure. The only company to pull this concept off correctly is Valve with TF2. With MTX in the background and a premium key to unlock everything.
