Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP to launch September 25 on Steam, PS5, Xbox and Switch. First trailer revealed

Dragami Games have announced that Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP will be releasing digitally on September 25 for the PC (Steam), Xbox Series X❘S and Nintendo Switch. A physical worldwide release will be announced at a later date. RePOP’s first trailer showcases the upcoming title’s polished new graphics.

Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP is a modern remaster and definitive version of the 2012 hack-and-slash action game by Grasshopper Manufacture. The original Lollipop Chainsaw was released for the PS3 and Xbox 360. Set in a high school on the West Coast of the United States, the game follows Juliet, a descendant of zombie hunters, as she battles her zombie-turned classmates with the nimble movements of a cheerleader, using a chainsaw as a weapon.

According to the RePOP’s producer Yoshimi Yasuda, the upcoming remaster will keep the original Lollipop Chainsaw’s script, scenario and worldview intact while making QOL improvements and adding new gameplay features. Some of the specific changes mentioned so far include improvements to battle mechanics, speed adjustments, and corrections to input timing for chainsaw combo attacks. We can also expect to see improvements in terms of resolution, frame rate and loading times.

As for new content, Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP will feature interchangeable chainsaw options and a consecutive hit system independent of the combo attack system. The protagonist Juliet will have a total of 30 costumes and new hair colors.

As revealed in the first trailer (seen above), Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP will have an Original Mode and a RePOP mode to choose from, the latter of which will have less explicit violence and use pop-art damage effects.

Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP will be releasing digitally on September 25 this year for the PC (Steam), PS5, Xbox Series X❘S and Nintendo Switch.
