Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC will finally change the blinding white Bandai Namco logo screen

With the first wave of Shadow of the Erdtree previews going public (you can check out ours here), we’re discovering that the DLC has loads of exciting features in store – such as the 8 new weapon types (including Hand to Hand Combat and Reverse Hand Swords), 10+ new bosses and DLC-exclusive items. However, the expansion will be bringing one more major change – there will no longer be a pure white Bandai Namco Entertainment logo screen to scorch players’ eyes when they launch Elden Ring.

As revealed by Souls-like content creator Iron Pineapple, Shadow of the Erdtree  apparently changes the background color of the infamous Bandai Namco Entertainment logo. Showing up right in between the pitch black FromSoftware and Elden Ring logo screens, the Bandai logo had been notoriously “flashbanging’ people ever since the game launched. While this has inspired many memorable memes over the years, it has also been a genuine complaint of many players. Thankfully, it seems FromSoftware has listened to players and done away with the QOL obstruction.

On a side note, while no-one wants to be temporarily blinded by a bright white screen, there are actually unexpected reasons why some Japanese developers avoid black loading screens

The Shadow of the Erdtree Elden Ring DLC is scheduled to release worldwide on June 21 for the PC, PS5/PS4 and Xbox Series X|S/Xbox One
