Hideo Kojima seems excited for Norman Reedus’s arrival in Japan for Comic Con 2024

Hideo Kojima suddenly started trending on Japanese X (formerly Twitter) on March 19, and this has something to do with the announcement of Norman Reedus and Mads Mikkelsen’s appearance at the Osaka Comic Con 2024. Fans noticed Kojima reposting multiple announcements of the news, leading to speculation (and hopes) that Kojima may also appear at Comic Con.

Post translation: Director Kojima is reposting (the news) so happily…

This year’s Osaka Comic Con will be held from May 3 to 5, and earlier this month, it was announced that Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen, who appears in Death Stranding as Cliff, will be attending the event. Furthermore, today it was revealed that another Death Stranding star, Norman Reedus (who provided the voice, likeness and motions for the game’s protagonist Sam), will also be coming to Japan.

Post translation: Kojima Hideo and Mads have made an appearance at Comic Con overseas before, Kojima’s documentary film will be released this year, and Death Stranding 2 is slated for next year – so there is a chance (of Kojima attending). Furthermore, Osaka is Kojima’s hometown. I want to be there…

With the two actors being confirmed for the Osaka Comic Con, Hideo Kojima’s fans are hoping that the trio will have an iconic “reunion” moment at the event, and Kojima fervently sharing news about Norman Reedus on X has further spurred this on. As Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is planned for 2025, many think that Kojima showing up at 2024’s Comic Con is entirely possible.

  1. I can not blame Kojima, COVID really knocked off communication for everyone to go and see each other, especially in Japan as well. It’s going to be nice seeing them back together again in a physical location.
