Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth takes over Times Square, The New York Times in massive advertising campaign
Sega’s Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is right around the corner, launching on January 26 for the PC (Windows/Steam), Xbox Series X|S/Xbox One and PS4/PS5. The newest installment of the Like a Dragon series is one of RGG Studio’s most ambitious titles up to date, and its release is being accompanied by a befittingly large-scale advertising campaign, including a Times Square electric billboard and an upcoming full-page advertisement in The New York Times.
Throughout its development, Infinite Wealth has been described by RGG Studio as one of their biggest and most content-packed games yet, involving an unprecedent number of development staff. And truly, as the release approaches, the variety of content being teased appears to be endless, with early reviews already lauding Infinite Wealth as one of the best RPGs in recent years.
Sega has been very active in promoting Infinite Wealth, with Japanese players getting nationwide demo events and opportunities to interact with the game and creators. Global advertising is also substantial, with a massive animated electric billboard counting down to Infinite Wealth’s launch at the very center of Times Square in New York City.
One particularly impactful location is the Infinite Wealth billboard in Dotonbori, Japan, which is the real-life counterpart of the in-game Sotenbori.. As the two environments look nearly identical, one player humorously commented that “seeing a yakuza sign in Dotonbori must feel like breaking the 4th wall as a fictional character.”
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is scheduled for release on January 26 for the PC (Windows/Steam)/Xbox Series X|S/Xbox One/PS4/PS5.
