Project MBR is Grandia producer’s new multiplayer robot action game
SIEG GAMES has announced Project MBR (tentative title). The game will be available on PC (Steam) and PS5 and is expected to launch in Spring 2024.
Project MBR is a multiplayer robot action shooting game. Players fight against each other in teams of five while piloting robots from a cockpit view. Radar installations, artillery batteries, and other structures are located around the battlefield, and protecting or destroying them are the key to victory. It appears that battles will not just be simple shootouts, making teamwork very important.
It will be possible to enhance and customize the robots that you pilot, and during battle, the robots can transform into tanks, planes, artillery, and more. The game is being developed using Unreal Engine 4, but they plan to move the game to Unreal Engine 5 in order to improve the quality of the graphics.
SIEG GAMES is a development studio led by Yoichi Miyaji, who is known for serving as producer on Grandia and other titles. The game’s official website introduces the main staff behind the game:
Produced by Yoichi Miyaji (current CEO of SIEG GAMES), the founder of Game Arts, which has created numerous innovative games. The director is Ryuji Inomata, who participated in works such as “Gungriffon” and “Super Smash Bros. X”. Koichi Inoue, who worked on planning and producing many famous animations such as “Armored Trooper Votoms” and “Mobile Suit Gundam MS IGLOO”, set the world view. Noriyuki Iwadare, who composed and arranged songs such as “Lunar” and “Grandia,” participated in the music.
Project MBR is intended to be a co-creation with the fan community, and even after the game is released, it will continue to evolve via updates and DLC. A Kickstarter campaign for the game is expected to begin on March 7.
