The original scenario writer Yoko Taro and Square Enix will supervise the scenario. It went on to become a critically acclaimed title with over 6 million units sold worldwide. The game takes place thousands of years after the events of the first game, where a proxy war between human-made androids and alien-made machines is taking place. You play as members of the YoRHa forces, including 2B and 9S, to work towards retaking the Earth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The announcement was made on February 23, which marks the 5<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary of the game\u2019s launch. There had been novels and stage plays that share the same universe, but an anime adaptation is a first.
