The server was used as an alternate way to report cheat-related activities in <em>Apex Legends<\/em>, apart from the in-game reporting function.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>BAN HAMMER JP worked with Rin Matsuoka, Respawn Entertainment\u2019s Security Analyst monitoring cheat activities in APAC servers, to unleash the ban hammer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">We&#39;re looking to expand our visibility to other regions. The admin stated that although they have come this far in their hope of getting rid of cheaters, the root of the problem has to be solved by the developers themselves. Mukku continued by saying that they aren\u2019t playing the game to report cheaters and wanted to let EA know how much the community\u2019s efforts have contributed to maintaining the game\u2019s environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This has triggered a large number of protest tweets in Japan using the hashtag <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%23SaveApexASIA&amp;src=trend_click&amp;vertical=trends\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SaveApexASIA<\/a>, asking EA and Respawn to improve the situation. Coincidentally, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=SaveApexRanked&amp;src=typed_query\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">#SaveApexRanked<\/a>, which shares a similar purpose, is gaining momentum overseas at the same time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Okinawa no Mukku isn\u2019t blaming the Security Analyst Rin Matsuoka, though. They <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Oki_Mukku\/status\/1481641526543646725\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">expressed their gratitude<\/a> towards Matsuoka for working hard every day, even though Matsuoka has to work at night and sleep in the morning to adjust to the time difference between Asia and the West, making it difficult to spend time with family and friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anti-cheat measures are a never-ending endeavor. <em>Apex Legends<\/em> is no different with Respawn and players having been discussing the matter for a long time. It\u2019ll be interesting to see if this protest will have any impact on the future of <em>Apex Legends<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Apex Legends<\/em> is currently holding the Dark Depths event until February 1. A small update went live recently to fix the crash issue related to the MIL-SPEC skin and the infinite charge exploit related to Rampage and Sentinel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">You may notice the Rampage feels a bit different.
