Taiwanese indie developer PHOSEPO released its mystery suspense visual novel Psycho Sleuth<\/strong> on November 5. The game debuted with a \u201cVery Positive\u201d score on Steam<\/a>, with over 95% of 120+ reviews being positive at the time of writing. It is also available on other PC platforms, including Epic Games<\/a> and Stove<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The story of Psycho Sleuth is set in a world ruled by a mysterious religious cult known by the name of \u201cLi.\u201d Thirteen individuals known as the \u201cAfflicted Ones\u201d are summoned to participate in a mysterious death game where they must kill without getting exposed. Those who manage to overcome the cult\u2019s cruel trial are promised ascension to godhood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To make things more complicated, each of the Afflicted Ones is burdened with a rare cognitive disorder that can spread their perception to others. For example, OCD makes an individual unable to lie, Spatial Neglect allows a person to witness only one side of the full picture, and Prosopagnosia makes faces indiscernible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In return, this can strongly impact how murders play out and how the crime scenes are perceived, making investigation and deduction much more challenging. The culprit can easily interfere with your investigation, and you\u2019ll have to pay close attention to discern between actual clues and figments of your imagination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After an investigation segment, you jump into Debate Mode, where you have to challenge other suspects in a logic battle. Using the evidence you found, you\u2019ll have to make split-second decisions about whether to agree with or debunk the statements flung at you. Similarly to games like Danganronpa, after fishing out the culprit, you\u2019ll also get to \u201csee them off\u201d in a flashy punishment scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
