Unfortunately, it also introduced a bug that increased the game\u2019s file size to a whopping 366.56GB. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.<\/em>&nbsp;<br><em>As a temporary workaround, you can download the base game by unchecking the DLC under Steam<\/em> <em>\u2192<\/em> <em>Properties<\/em> <em>\u2192<\/em> <em>DLC.<\/em>&nbsp;<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is the first update for NieR: Automata on Steam in five years, with the previous one being released on July 15, 2021. While the exact cause of the bug is currently unknown, checking each of the game\u2019s eight DLC requirements reveals that all of their file sizes have increased to the size of the base game. Combined with the main game, the total file size amounts to over 360GB.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1600\" height=\"900\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1600px) 100vw, 1600px\" src=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/11\/20261106-477820-header.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-74853\" srcset=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/11\/20261106-477820-header.webp 1600w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/11\/20261106-477820-header-380x214.webp 380w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/11\/20261106-477820-header-768x432.webp 768w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/11\/20261106-477820-header-1536x864.webp 1536w\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Interestingly, the game and its DLCs only take up around 40~50GB when installed, with the 366GB requirement only being a prerequisite to install everything at once. If you want to download everything, a temporary solution would be to install the base game first (by unchecking all of the DLCs under Steam \u2192 Properties \u2192 DLC).
