Developed and published by Japanese solo developer Shibuki Harataki, the story follows a child soldier who slowly overcomes his apathy and distrust of humanity, thereby regaining his will to live.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"\u500b\u4eba\u958b\u767a\u30ce\u30d9\u30eb\u30b2\u30fc\u30e0\u300e\u6b7b\u3093\u3067\u3082\u7d99\u306a\u3052\u300f\u3000\u516c\u5f0fPV\" width=\"1160\" height=\"653\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ckyfye3Ofas?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Torch &amp; Trigger is set in a near-future Japan ruled by artificial intelligence and overrun with machines. The story follows Jin Tokishiro, the top-ranking student of Plantation, a facility that trains children to fight against the oppressive machines. During a scouting run to an uncharted cabin, Jin and second-ranked student Mikana Kujo stumble upon Tsumugi, a five-year-old girl with poor eyesight and hearing. After taking her in, Jin and Mikana are ordered by their superiors to act like a makeshift couple and treat Tsumugi as their daughter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jin isn\u2019t exactly what you would call father material. After losing his brother in a mission, he became withdrawn and apathetic. Though Jin\u2019s combat skills have earned him the highest rank available for a student in Plantation, he tends to isolate himself from his peers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1463\" height=\"825\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1463px) 100vw, 1463px\" src=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/20261026-74224-002.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-74235\" srcset=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/20261026-74224-002.jpg 1463w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/20261026-74224-002-380x214.jpg 380w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/20261026-74224-002-768x433.jpg 768w\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mikana Kujo, on the other hand, is quite popular with her fellow students. Apart from her combat skills, she is also confident in her cooking abilities. However, she suffers from insomnia due to the secrets that she keeps to herself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the center of it all is Tsumugi, whose eyesight and hearing are miraculously restored when she comes into contact with Jin (a fact that might be integral to the overall story). Tsumugi is highly intelligent for someone her age and is always eager to learn. She is especially interested in electrical engineering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As the three characters live life as a family, Jin slowly rediscovers his humanity and the warmth of connecting with others. He also learns of the Plantation\u2019s dark secrets, which probably shouldn\u2019t come as a surprise to anyone considering it\u2019s a facility that trains child soldiers. The game features multiple endings based on your choices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1465\" height=\"823\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1465px) 100vw, 1465px\" src=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/20261026-74224-header-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-74236\" srcset=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/20261026-74224-header-1.jpg 1465w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/20261026-74224-header-1-380x213.jpg 380w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/20261026-74224-header-1-767x431.jpg 767w\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Torch &amp; Trigger is set to release in December for PC (<a href=\"https:\/\/store.steampowered.com\/app\/4995800\/TORCH_TRIGGER\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Steam<\/a>).
