In a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scrapmagazine.com\/news\/play_kinshi_20260928\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">statement<\/a> on its official website, the company said the decision was based on the game\u2019s current development status and apologized to fans awaiting the launch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">DO NOT PLAY is a point-and-click psychological horror adventure title by SCRAP revolving around a fictional browser game that, according to online rumors, should \u201cnever be played.\u201d Evoking the feel of Creepypasta, and specifically the \u201cforbidden search terms\u201d (\u691c\u7d22\u3057\u3066\u306f\u3044\u3051\u306a\u3044\u8a00\u8449)\u00a0Japanese internet folklore of the 2000s, the game presents itself as a series of unsettling websites and browser games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"[Official] &quot;DO NOT PLAY&quot; | 1st Trailer\" width=\"1160\" height=\"653\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/DP2ZR2YNWc8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The announcement also revealed a significant change in the game\u2019s development structure, likely the main reason why the game ended up getting postponed in the first place. SCRAP and Fahrenheit 213, the co-developer for the game, \u201cmutually agreed to end their collaborative development partnership.\u201d Going forward, development for DO NOT PLAY will continue under a new structure led directly by SCRAP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While the statement did not mention a new release window, it said SCRAP will announce a new release date for the game once it has a \u201cclearer outlook based on the progress of development.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">DO NOT PLAY is slated to launch on <a href=\"https:\/\/store.steampowered.com\/app\/3502970\/DO_NOT_PLAY\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Steam<\/a> with English, Japanese, and Chinese (Traditional\/Simplified) language support.
