Their intent is to be \u201cthe platform for serving information exchange and creating synergy among companies and individuals involved in the business of metaverse.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Tomoo Onishi, representative director of <a href=\"https:\/\/japanmeta.org\/en\/en_home\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">JMA<\/a>, blockchain and NFT (Non Fungible Token) are a crucial part of the metaverse and they intend to \u201cactively communicate with and gather information from related parties in Japan and abroad\u201d in order to \u201cmake Japan a leading country in the field of metaverse technology.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background\" style=\"background-color:#f6fafb\"><em>\u201cin Japan, although many people have a general idea of the metaverse, few people understand what it can do. However, it doesn\u2019t necessarily mean cryptoassets are an essential part of doing business in virtual space. Therefore, it is only natural for them to view the concept of metaverse as a business opportunity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That said, the metaverse isn\u2019t just about making use of NFT and blockchain technologies. There are people out there who have been active at the grassroots level, focusing on the interactive aspects of the virtual space. So it\u2019s quite easy to understand why some people view JMA as companies that are only looking to make a profit and nothing else. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The VRChat community is especially critical of JMA\u2019s agenda, which is also understandable considering how the platform grew by adapting a non-corporate, user-driven approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Who knows, maybe someone with a different vision of \u201ca leading country in the field of metaverse\u201d would one day establish a new metaverse-related organization to counter JMA.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Japan Metaverse Association has been established to promote NFT, and the initial receptions are quite negative.
