Japanese indie developer lvl374 has launched the Steam store page<\/a> for their latest game, She Doesn\u2019t Know<\/strong>. The upcoming visual novel uses a distinct 1-bit pixel art style (which uses a two-color palette) to tell the coming-of-age story of two girls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She\u00a0Doesn\u2019t\u00a0Know takes place over a single day in\u00a01999\u00a0Japan and follows school sophomores Haruka and Shiho. The story is told from Haruka\u2019s perspective as she interacts with Shiho,\u00a0her childhood\u00a0friend\u00a0and girlfriend.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout the game, the\u00a0two\u00a0girls\u00a0converse about different things. These\u00a0range\u00a0from\u00a0generic\u00a0topics like\u00a0school grades, part-time jobs, and puberty, to more specific\u00a0and\u00a0profound subjects such as Shiho\u2019s family issues, their sexual\u00a0attraction\u00a0to\u00a0one another, death, and what paths they want to take after graduating.\u00a0The developer mentions that the game\u00a0contains\u00a0depictions of content that some players might find disturbing, such as depictions of mild bullying, violence, and suicide.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These talks take place as the two go about their day. While the game seems linear for the most part, there are some dialogue options to choose from that flesh out parts of Haruka and Shiho\u2019s history and personalities.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
