Perfect World has announced its financial results<\/a> for the first half of 2026, revealing that the free-to-play urban RPG NTE: Neverness to Everness<\/strong> (hereafter NTE) has surpassed 2 billion Chinese yuan (approx. $298 million USD) in cumulative worldwide revenue. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

NTE initially launched domestically on April 23, followed by its global release on April 29. Shortly after launch, Perfect World reported to investors that NTE generated more than 100 million yuan in worldwide revenue on the first day of its global release. Following the release of Version 1.1, both the Chinese and global versions set new records for highest single-day revenue on launch day. The global version was also reported to have generated more revenue than the Chinese version. Perfect World\u2019s first-half 2026 earnings forecast subsequently revealed that revenue had surpassed 1.4 billion yuan<\/a> (over $200 million USD) as of June 30. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the new financial report, NTE surpassed $298 million in cumulative worldwide revenue as of August 18. This means the game generated an additional $98 million over the approximately one and a half months since early July. While the pace of revenue growth has slowed, the game appears to be performing strongly even around four months after launch. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Around 60% of the total $298 in revenue came from the game\u2019s official platforms worldwide, including the official PC and Android versions. External storefront versions, including Steam and the Epic Games Store, launched on July 8, but based on the figures disclosed, the official platforms still appear to account for a substantial share of the game\u2019s revenue. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite NTE\u2019s strong sales, Perfect World as a whole recorded a loss of around 118 million yuan or roughly $18 million USD during the first half of the fiscal year. The company cited, among other factors, a timing mismatch in revenue recognition, meaning NTE\u2019s (rather lavish) marketing costs were recorded upfront, while player spending is recognized as revenue over a longer period. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, NTE’s Version 1.3, titled \u201cRising from the Moonlit Fog,\u201d launched globally on August 19. The update introduces a large new map ncluding beaches, as well as new swimsuit costumes and other summer-themed content. Since the newly disclosed revenue figures do not include revenue from Version 1.3 for the global version, it will be interesting to see how this is reflected in subsequent reports. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
