Created by solo-developer\u00a0roccay, the\u00a0title\u00a0is\u00a0a surreal\u00a0point-and-click adventure\u00a0that sees players solving puzzles and unveiling secrets on a desolate island after a mysterious celestial body crash-lands.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In\u00a0The Dream of a Cockspur, you\u00a0assume\u00a0the role of a researcher whose team spends two weeks studying the\u00a0mysterious fallen object on\u00a0the island without a hitch. However, things go awry when it turns out their\u00a0ship, the only way home, breaks down. Left stranded on the island, unexplainable things start to happen,\u00a0and you\u00a0have to\u00a0figure out if someone is sabotaging the mission, or if,\u00a0perhaps, a hidden horror lurks upon the island.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Players will come to\u00a0learn about\u00a0their circumstances\u00a0as they interact with their surroundings. Discovering new objects grants new character choices and perspectives, as the player’s identity\u00a0itself\u00a0and their relationship with the world\u00a0are\u00a0left a mystery. In the midst of uncertainty, a therapy dog named\u00a0Numnum\u00a0grants\u00a0comfort to the weary\u00a0protagonist.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The developer,\u00a0roccay, originally majored in molecular cell systems and pathology, and has released several minigames on itch.io in the past. The Dream of Cockspur marks\u00a0their\u00a0first feature-length rekease. The unique visuals seen in the trailer are influenced by surrealist works, stop-motion animation using clay,\u00a0and plaster objects.\u00a0According to\u00a0roccay,\u00a0the\u00a0trailer\u2019s\u00a0depiction of the ship cracking open was first made in\u00a03D, but\u00a0was then swapped out in favor\u00a0of\u00a0clay after\u00a0they\u00a0found the\u00a0initial\u00a0attempt inadequate.\u00a0They\u00a0also mentioned how the 40-color clay set\u00a0they\u00a0purchased\u00a0to make the\u00a0stop-motion animations ended up being\u00a0the most expensive part of development.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
