And for those who weren\u2019t able to attend the hands-on event, the devs prepared a trailer, offering a sneak peek at the gameplay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Monster Fantasy - Official Reveal Trailer\" width=\"1160\" height=\"653\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/eLnyGWq7_tw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Upon reveal, the content of the trailer, and especially its hunting sequences, drew numerous comparisons to the Monster Hunter franchise, with some calling the resemblance a bit too close for comfort. Aside from the concept of fighting large monsters itself, which is the most obvious point, some users also pointed out the long sword and bow weapon actions as rather familiar-looking. These reactions prompted the developers to address the matter in a recent <a href=\"https:\/\/store.steampowered.com\/news\/app\/4713940\/view\/695390848783750468?\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">FAQ column on Steam.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While the developers at JOTOYO admit that Monster Hunter has been a huge inspiration for their game, they explain that Monster Fantasy is aiming to place a much greater emphasis on the interaction between a variety of gameplay systems and the new experience created through them. According to them, hunting large monsters is \u201conly one part\u201d of the gameplay, which is a different overall experience from what the Monster Hunter series offers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"432\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" src=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/20260709-694110001.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-69416\" srcset=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/20260709-694110001.jpg 768w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/20260709-694110001-380x214.jpg 380w\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Apparently, the developers\u2019 goal with Monster Fantasy is to present a fictional world which players can get immersed and enjoy living in \u201cbeyond hunting and combat.\u201d This idea is further reinforced by what JOTOYO told us in our <a href=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/news\/hunting-cozy-life-sim-rpg-monster-fantasy-will-let-you-skip-combat-and-frolic-with-your-favorite-villagers-if-you-want-to\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">last month\u2019s interview:<\/a> It will be entirely possible to beat the game without actually engaging in the hunting gameplay, and players who aren\u2019t too combat savvy can dedicate their time to maintaining their village and interacting with the NPCs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That being said, the developers explain that the content shown so far is still from an early stage in development, and that they are already working on adjusting and improving the designs based on the recent feedback.
