The\u00a0Steam page<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>for\u00a0Muv-Luv: Tactics Kalidasa at Nightmare<\/strong>,\u00a0a\u00a0singleplayer,\u00a0turn-based\u00a0RPG\u00a0set in the\u00a0Muv-Luv universe,\u00a0officially launched\u00a0on June 24.\u00a0Developed by\u00a0fuzz<\/a>\u00a0and published by\u00a0aNCHOR<\/a>, the game is set to release in 2027.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The story is a standalone tale set in a\u00a0parallel probability timeline\u00a0adjacent to\u00a0Muv-Luv Alternative,\u00a0the sequel to the\u00a0Muv-Luv Unlimited section of the original sci-fi visual novel.\u00a0It\u00a0depicts\u00a0an all-out\u00a0fight\u00a0against humanity’s greatest foe, the BETA\u00a0(short for\u00a0\u201cBeings of\u00a0Extra-Terrestrial\u00a0origin which are Adversary to the human race\u201d). To combat them,\u00a0mankind\u00a0operates\u00a0bipedal mechas called Tactical Surface Fighters (TSFs).\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Muv-Luv: Tactics\u00a0follows a UN Forces squadron commander in charge of\u00a0commanding\u00a0TSFs\u00a0units in turn-based battles.\u00a0Each mech requires a pilot (which you can recruit), as well as a loadout that\u00a0determines\u00a0its combat capabilities. Once\u00a0the\u00a0mechas\u00a0are deployed, you\u00a0issue commands\u00a0such as moving them across the battlefield\u00a0(which is not divided into traditional grid-based tiles)\u00a0and attacking BETAs.\u00a0According to the developers, every decision can\u00a0determine\u00a0both the fate of subordinates and the success or failure of an operation,\u00a0making for\u00a0a nerve-wracking experience.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite\u00a0the\u00a0colorful\u00a0anime\u00a0characters,\u00a0Muv-Luv Tactics\u00a0aims to immerse players in the\u00a0despair\u00a0of being overrun by the BETA, offering\u00a0\u201cthe visceral terror of being crushed, body and mind.\u201d\u00a0Rather than glorifying combat, the description reads that \u201cdeath is always one breath away,\u201d with the series\u2019 trademark psychological horror on full display.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
