South Korean video game developer and publisher Neowiz <\/strong>recently announced that Jason Park (Park Sung Jun), head of the company\u2019s New Game Development Group and director of Lies of P studio Round8, has been nominated as its next CEO (source: Inven Global<\/a>). Park is scheduled to be appointed following a shareholders meeting in August and officially take office under a co-CEO structure alongside current CEO Bae Tae-geun. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The appointment will mark the first time in Neowiz\u2019s history that a developer will serve as CEO. According to Neowiz, the decision was made to strengthen expertise and execution on the development side as it ramps up its pipeline of new projects. The company says it intends to focus its resources on developing new titles and expanding its global presence. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Park\u00a0has been with\u00a0Neowiz\u00a0for over a decade. He\u00a0served as development\u00a0director\u00a0at\u00a0Neowiz\u00a0CRS in 2013,\u00a0before becoming\u00a0head of the\u00a0console\u00a0development\u00a0division at\u00a0Neowiz\u00a0Bless Studio.\u00a0In 2019, he became director of\u00a0Round8\u00a0Studio, and\u00a0has led\u00a0Neowiz\u2019s\u00a0New Game Development Group\u00a0since 2023, overseeing\u00a0the company\u2019s next-gen development lineup.\u00a0He is\u00a0also\u00a0credited as a key developer on\u00a0Lies of P and its DLC, Lies of P: Overture.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Though Park will soon have more responsibilities as CEO, he will continue as head of the New Game Development Group. Fulfilling the duties of both roles, he aims to align the development direction of major titles with the company\u2019s management strategy. Considering he is still overseeing development, it wouldn\u2019t be surprising if he is involved with the much-anticipated Lies of P sequel, which is currently in the full-scale development stage<\/a>. Several Neowiz projects are also in the works, including a yet-unnamed soulslike game, a life sim, a survival action-adventure title, and a narrative-based RPG \u2013 all of which were disclosed by Neowiz in a 2025 investor presentation<\/a>. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
