Commemorating the milestone, executive producer Yong-Ha Kim and deputy producer Jun-Ho Lee recently talked to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.inven.co.kr\/webzine\/news\/?news=316991\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">INVEN<\/a>&nbsp;about where the game is headed amidst changing conditions in the industry&nbsp;\u2013&nbsp;including&nbsp;AI,&nbsp;one of the&nbsp;most divisive&nbsp;issues&nbsp;among gamers nowadays.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While Kim has been outspoken about the&nbsp;negative impacts of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/news\/blue-archive-producer-says-the-creative-industry-is-facing-an-ai-slop-problem-linking-to-consumer-distrust-of-course-theyre-going-to-react-negatively\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">low-effort AI \u201cslop\u201d in game development<\/a>&nbsp;for some time now,&nbsp;he&nbsp;appears to have doubled down on this sentiment,&nbsp;commenting that \u201cthe path Blue Archive&nbsp;is pursuing&nbsp;as a&nbsp;game&nbsp;stands&nbsp;in direct opposition to AI.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Interestingly, Kim actually majored in AI and is interested in it on a personal level, but&nbsp;considers it has no place&nbsp;in&nbsp;creating Blue Archive\u2019s assets.&nbsp;\u201cI should stress that this is just my&nbsp;personal opinion, but I do believe&nbsp;[AI]&nbsp;is&nbsp;highly effective for coding and automating development processes as a form of technical&nbsp;assistance. Internally,&nbsp;we\u2019re&nbsp;also studying and researching the latest AI technologies alongside our work,\u201d he says. However,&nbsp;when it comes to Blue Archive,&nbsp;Kim&nbsp;believes&nbsp;\u201cAI would bring far more disadvantages than advantages,\u201d&nbsp;and&nbsp;\u201csimply&nbsp;doesn\u2019t&nbsp;align with the game\u2019s direction.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1672\" height=\"943\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1672px) 100vw, 1672px\" src=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/20260605-67962-002.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-67966\" srcset=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/20260605-67962-002.jpg 1672w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/20260605-67962-002-380x214.jpg 380w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/20260605-67962-002-768x433.jpg 768w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/20260605-67962-002-1536x866.jpg 1536w\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Since the illustrations&nbsp;and&nbsp;character designs&nbsp;in Blue Archive&nbsp;are built&nbsp;around the idea of meticulous and hand-crafted artwork, the producer considers it essential that players can \u201cfeel the human touch of the people who made them.\u201d Kim says this&nbsp;is an&nbsp;internal guideline and core value of his dev team.&nbsp;\u201cAt this stage, our focus is on how to preserve&nbsp;that human touch and maximize quality in the areas where only humans can excel&nbsp;\u2013&nbsp;areas that AI cannot handle.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s&nbsp;worth noting that Nexon itself, which Blue Archive developer IO Division is a part&nbsp;of, seems&nbsp;quite&nbsp;eager about&nbsp;generative AI&nbsp;in game development.
