This was announced during the recent Shibuya Scramble Stories crowdfunding public meeting, which was broadcast live on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Beg0XzDSPm4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">YouTube<\/a>. According to Ishii, the original plan was to run the second campaign on Ubgoe, the platform which hosted the first crowdfunding project. However, due to major issues, the developers had to look for a new platform, which is why the follow-up campaign will be launching two months later than the initially planned date (Source: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.4gamer.net\/games\/905\/G090534\/20250527032\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">4Gamer<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As for what the exact issues were, despite the initial campaign <a href=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/news\/428-shibuya-scramble-devs-new-game-blows-past-crowdfunding-target-in-only-an-hour\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">blowing past the target in only an hour<\/a> and ultimately amassing over 55 million yen (about $340k USD), the developers only ended up receiving less than a half of the money. After missing the payment deadline, Ubgoe <a href=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/news\/japanese-crowdfunded-340k-game-still-missing-half-its-funds-as-platform-claims-it-accidentally-sent-the-money-elsewhere\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">claimed that the money was \u201cmistakenly\u00a0wired\u00a0to a different client,\u201d<\/a>\u00a0and that it was\u00a0thus\u00a0impossible\u00a0for it to immediately prepare the full amount.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To make things even more complicated, amidst the legal battle between Skeleton Crew Studio\u00a0and Ubgoe, the <a href=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/news\/japanese-crowdfunding-platform-that-allegedly-ran-off-with-more-than-half-of-ishii-jiros-340k-game-budget-suddenly-becomes-inaccessible\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">platform\u2019s servers unexpectedly went down on April 15<\/a>, and are still unavailable at the time of writing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"426\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" src=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/20260420-65475-header.jpg\" alt=\"Shibuya Scramble Stories gameplay\" class=\"wp-image-65477\" srcset=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/20260420-65475-header.jpg 768w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/20260420-65475-header-380x211.jpg 380w\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite the situation still not being completely resolved, last month Ishii and his team confirmed that the development of Shibuya Scramble Stories would not be halted. The project has received support from Tokyu Land Corporation amidst the financial setback, and judging by the recent updates and BitSummit exhibition, it seems like the development is progressing smoothly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Ishii, this time, the team has been very careful about picking their partner for the next crowdfunding campaign.
