Japanese video game company aNCHOR, best known as the developer of the cult classic visual novel series Muv-Luv<\/strong>, announced<\/a> on May 26 that they would be stepping down from publishing their upcoming game Destiny Code<\/strong>. This decision comes due to changes in the company\u2019s organizational structure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Destiny Code, developed by Project L.A, is a bishojo deckbuilding RPG scheduled to release in 2026 via Steam. The game follows the story of Hart Grancer, a former mercenary turned secret agent of the A.C.E. (Ancient Prehistoric Civilization Central Intelligence Executive Agency), who\u2019s tasked with the mission of training a group of beautiful girls attending the Academy, a school run by the mysterious agency. But as they handle miscellaneous tasks from the A.C.E, the group soon ends up getting involved in a bigger, darker conspiracy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The game got a free playable demo back in October 2025, and the full version of the game was supposed to be released this year, with aNCHOR as the publisher. However, due to the aforementioned structural changes, and in consideration of the company\u2019s \u201cfuture business policies,\u201d the publisher has determined that \u201cthat it would be difficult to continue publishing the title in the most suitable manner.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This does not mean that the game will be completely cancelled, though. As explained in the announcement, Project L.A. will be taking on the publishing duties while also continuing development of the game. aNCHOR reassures its audience that this decision was made due to circumstances on their side, and is unrelated to the game\u2019s content or development status.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That being said, aNCHOR will continue to handle inquiries regarding promotional campaigns and events announced prior to this decision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Destiny Code is scheduled to release in 2026 for PC (Steam<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
