viviON, the parent company of popular Japanese\u00a0digital game,\u00a0doujinshi\u00a0and ASMR\u00a0platform\u00a0DLsite, has\u00a0announced<\/a>\u00a0the\u00a0new\u00a0cloud gaming service\u00a0viviON\u00a0Games.<\/strong>\u00a0Scheduled to launch sometime in 2026, it will allow\u00a0users\u00a0to\u00a0play PC games on their smartphones using\u00a0the OOParts\u00a0Engine,\u00a0which\u00a0viviON\u00a0subsidiary\u00a0EISYS\u00a0acquired\u00a0last\u00a0year.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

viviON Games leverages the OOParts cloud gaming engine to launch games directly on your phone\u2019s browser using dedicated servers. This removes any download or setup requirements, making the process relatively quick easy for those who want to give the service a shot. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative was launched\u00a0with the goal of making\u00a0PC gaming more accessible. Since\u00a0gaming\u00a0for extended periods can be difficult when you have\u00a0worldly\u00a0responsibilities\u00a0to tend to,\u00a0the service is intended to offer a way for people to hop on their favorite games during brief moments of downtime.\u00a0Since\u00a0the system was built\u00a0with\u00a0PC\u00a0games\u00a0in mind, developers will not need\u00a0to do\u00a0any\u00a0porting work\u00a0to bring their titles to\u00a0viviON\u00a0Games\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Though the company has previously released apps like DL Play Box and its revamped version\u00a0DLSite\u00a0GamePlay<\/a>, which allowed users to play indie games hosted on\u00a0DLsite\u00a0via\u00a0mobile devices,\u00a0it seems\u00a0likely that the new\u00a0viviON\u00a0Games will offer a different catalogue of games.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While the launch lineup is still in the works, viviON Games will adopt a one-time purchase model for each game rather than a subscription-based one. According to viviON, this will allow them to \u201cgenerate revenue based on sales volume while preserving each game\u2019s value.\u201d Citing these advantages, they hope that game companies and developers will use viviON Games to reach more players with their works. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

viviON\u00a0Games\u00a0is scheduled to\u00a0be\u00a0exhibited\u00a0at this year\u2019s\u00a0BitSummit\u00a0PUNCH\u00a0indie game festival in Kyoto\u00a0from\u00a0May 22 to 24. Attendees will be able to play seven titles, namely\u00a0Yomawari: Lost in the Dark,\u00a0Seifuku\u00a0Kanojo,\u00a0KemonoMix\u00a0Re, One Way Heroics Plus, Terminus Historia, Return to\u00a0Shironagasu\u00a0Island, and\u00a0The Clingy Ghost\u00a0(these games may differ from the official launch lineup).\u00a0viviON\u00a0will also offer consultations on game sales and distribution for game companies and developers\u00a0at the event.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
