Japanese entertainment conglomerate CyberAgent<\/strong> has announced its financial results for the second half of the fiscal year ending March 2026<\/a>, showing an overall profitable period. While most of the company\u2019s ventures showed positive results, its gaming division had some of the biggest wins, with a massive 106.3% year-on-year operating profit increase to 38.6 million JPY ($244k USD) and a 47.4% year-on-year revenue increase to 132.2 million JPY ($837k USD).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Company president Takahiro Yamauchi revealed during the earnings briefing that the success of its gaming division is attributed to in-game anniversary events and overseas expansion. Specifically, overseas sales increased 3.5 times year-on-year , largely driven by Umamusume: Pretty Derby becoming a global hit<\/a> (source: Denfaminicogamer<\/a>). CyberAgent also attributed the anime adaptation of Umamusume: Cinderella Gray (which won \u201cAnime of the Year\u201d, alongside several other accolades in the 12th Anime<\/a> <\/a>Trending Awards<\/a>) to the success of its game and media & IP business divisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aside from Umamusume: Pretty Derby, the earnings briefing highlighted the accomplishments of Japanese mobile game studio GOODROID, which CyberAgent also owns. In addition to the studio releasing 81 games overseas and its titles surpassing 600 million downloads last February, GOODROID also published the new mobile title Bus Rush Fever!, which is developed internally by the \u201chyper-casual\u201d studio Pawars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With regards to the future of CyberAgent\u2019s gaming division, Yamauchi revealed that they are \u201cestablishing a system to ensure the long-term operation of our existing titles, and we are currently developing new titles with the aim of producing hits in the medium term.\u201d He added that pre-registration for QualiArts\u2019 upcoming hololive Dreams mobile rhythm games is progressing smoothly, and expressed high expectations for Cygames\u2019 Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok<\/a> expansion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
