Toei Games<\/strong>, the newly-established game brand<\/a> by anime and film giant Toei, has announced the first three titles it will be publishing. All three games are new, original works, and are not based on the company\u2019s existing IPs.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

KILLA<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

First in the lineup is KILLA<\/strong>, a 3D mystery adventure game developed by South Korean indie studio Black Tangerine. The story follows Valhalla, a lonely, orphaned girl who ventures to a nightmarish island seeking the killer of her mentor, whom she had treasured like family. Her mentor\u2019s dying words and only clue left behind was \u201cKill the La,\u201d but Valhalla encounters nine \u201cLa\u201d on the island. The player must converse with them, build rapport and earn their trust to progress in pursuit of revenge. Valhalla will awaken to the special ability Resonance, which allows her to infiltrate the suspects\u2019 memories and piece together the truth behind her mentor\u2019s death. The game features multiple endings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

KILLA has won several indie game awards and acknowledgements during its development, and currently has a free demo out on Steam<\/a>. The title is scheduled to launch on the platform sometime in 2026. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

HINO<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The second title published by Toei Games is\u00a0HINO<\/strong>, by Japanese indie developer\u00a0UnGloomStudio. HINO is an atmospheric 2D dark fantasy\u00a0adventure game created\u00a0using\u00a0ballpoint pen illustrations by artist Yatara.\u00a0The story follows Hino, a girl who wakes up in the dark ruins of a nursery school, and her\u00a0whimsical\u00a0companion\u00a0Monimoni\u00a0Skeleton.\u00a0Confronted by eerie monsters, the two set out into the darkness seeking refuge. Throughout their\u00a0journey, they draw closer to\u00a0the\u00a0shocking\u00a0truth about the\u00a0creation of the dark world they awoke in. Aside from\u00a0confronting and running away from monsters and traps,\u00a0you\u2019ll\u00a0also be making decisions that will\u00a0determine\u00a0how the story plays out.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

HINO is planned to release in 2026 for PC (Steam<\/a>). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

DEBUG NEPHEMEE<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Last but not least in Toei Games\u2019s debut lineup is DEBUG NEPHEMEE<\/strong>, by Japanese indie developer Nephemee Studio. Featuring pixel art graphics and anthro-style characters, DEBUG NEPHEMEE is a 2D adventure game set in a world plagued by anomalies called \u201cBugs.\u201d The game tasks you with \u201cdebugging\u201d the creatures known as Nephemee who inhabit this world. Though infected by Bugs, the Nephemee are very much alive; they are not enemies to be destroyed, but beings seeking salvation.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"DEBUG<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

DEBUG NEPHEMEE comes with a “multitasking” combat system, and each\u00a0Nephemee\u00a0you confront will\u00a0possess\u00a0their own values and philosophies, which manifest as the very patterns of their attacks. Through four simultaneous\u00a0mini-games\u00a0that require you to\u00a0dodge,\u00a0block, bug, and heal,\u00a0you’ll\u00a0hack opponents\u00a0and\u00a0transitioning\u00a0into a \u201cdebugging\u201d phase where\u00a0you\u00a0trace their personalities and memories. As you come to know the\u00a0Nephemees, the\u00a0story gradually evolves.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
