According to the announcement, the company identified the user who, on an undisclosed video sharing site, published content which harmed the reputation of the company and employees involved with <strong>Final Fantasy XIV<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"ja\" dir=\"ltr\">\u300c\u52d5\u753b\u5171\u6709\u30b5\u30a4\u30c8\u306b\u304a\u3051\u308b\u5f53\u793e\u5f79\u8077\u54e1\u7b49\u3078\u306e\u30cf\u30e9\u30b9\u30e1\u30f3\u30c8\u884c\u70ba\u306b\u5bfe\u3059\u308b\u5bfe\u5fdc\u306b\u3064\u3044\u3066\u300d\u516c\u958b\u306e\u304a\u77e5\u3089\u305b<\/p>&mdash; \u30b9\u30af\u30a6\u30a7\u30a2\u30fb\u30a8\u30cb\u30c3\u30af\u30b9 (@squareenix_jp) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/squareenix_jp\/status\/2046065065191743791?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 20, 2026<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>At the time of the announcement, the videos in question and the account have already been taken down from the website according to Square Enix, with the company reaching an amicable settlement with the user. The user apologized for their actions, paid an undisclosed sum as compensation, and was prohibited from performing similar actions in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This announcement follows <a href=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/news\/square-enix-takes-action-against-admin-of-final-fantasy-14-news-blog-over-harassment-of-development-staff\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">another case of online harassment towards Square Enix employees<\/a> which was reported by the company on March 2. As revealed in the official statement, the company had taken action against the administrator of the Japanese aggregator news blog Netoge Sokuho (formerly \u201cFF14 Sokuho\u201d) for publishing articles which damaged the reputation of its employees. As the website owner was anonymous, the company had to file a request for the site\u2019s provider to disclose their identity, which was granted by the court much like in this new case. \u00a0Following direct negotiations between the two parties, the website owner agreed to make a public apology, shut down the site and pay an undisclosed settlement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While the account name and details of the videos from the aforementioned case haven\u2019t been disclosed this time, it seems like the company\u2019s response has been nearly identical to that taken in the Netoge Sokuho case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On a related note, following the closure of Netoge Sokuho, Umadori Sokuho, another aggregator blog with a focus on Final Fantasy 14 content <a href=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/news\/another-final-fantasy-14-news-aggregator-in-japan-announces-closure-and-apologizes-to-square-enix-staff\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">voluntarily announced that it would be shutting down<\/a>, likely to prevent further damage from happening.
