Japanese space development company Space Entry recently announced the Minna no Haro <\/strong>(English: Everybody\u2019s Haro) project at the Inagi Communication Base Pair Terrace in Tokyo. As reported by Hobby Watch<\/a>, the goal of the project is to conduct a launch experiment, sending an autonomous space robot into orbit. As part of the \u201cHELO HARO\u201d mission, the Minna no Haro robot will be launched to the International Space Station (ISS), and will be set to remain on the Japanese Experiment Model (also known as Kibo). Curiously, (if the name isn\u2019t a giveaway already) Minna no Haro is based on the cute robot assistant from the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minna no Haro was created by mecha designer Kunio Okawara, who is one of the project\u2019s sponsoring partners alongside Bandai Namco Filmworks. The robot is equipped with various different features, including 360-degree propulsion via propellers and AI-based conversational skills, allowing it to support and converse with Japanese astronauts. With both on-Earth and in-space tests planned for the robot, the project is officially scheduled to start in Spring 2026, and Mina no Haro will hopefully be launched into space in Winter 2026. Further experiments in space are scheduled for 2027. The findings of the experiments are set to be used for the development of future generations of space robots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In order to realize the project, Space Entry has launched a crowdfunding campaign on CAMPFIRE<\/a>, and is looking for supporters and official sponsors. Furthermore, the company is offering a \u201cparticipation plan\u201d for backers who are interested in directly taking part in the HELLO HARO mission. Ending in roughly 3 months, the target goal of the campaign is 3 million yen (about $18.8k USD).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
