The game is scheduled to come out in 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Back in September of this year, Microids announced that the company has reached an agreement with Taito to produce two new games based on Taito\u2019s IPs (<a href=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/news\/20210917-2346\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">related article<\/a>). Apparently, one of the IPs they are using is <em>Arkanoid<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the publisher, the new game will be \u201ca fully modernized version\u201d of the renowned block breaker series. It will come with \u201cdifferent solo and multiplayer modes,\u201d new effects, new bonuses, and new features \u201cguaranteed to take veteran players by surprise,\u201d while retaining classic elements from the franchise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Arkanoid Eternal Battle | Reveal Teaser | Microids &amp; Pastagames\" width=\"1160\" height=\"653\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/C-xxHOiZkbc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The original <em>Arkanoid<\/em> came out in 1986 and spawned multiple sequels over the years. The outline of the story goes like this: \u201cWhen the mother ship ARKANOID comes under attack, the small spacecraft VAUS manages to escape but ends up warped into another dimension. Wandering in an interdimensional labyrinth, VAUS must destroy blocks called \u2018spacewalls\u2019 in order to defeat \u2018DOH\u2019, creator of the maze.\u201d It&#8217;s a simple but challenging block breaker game where you deflect a ball using the paddle-shaped VAUS spacecraft to break all the blocks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Masakazu Suzuki, Director and Executive Officer of Taito Corporation, made a comment saying, \u201cWe are very pleased that Microids, a company we trust, will be releasing a modern version of a popular title that Taito released 35 years ago. We\u2019re confident that both old fans and new players will be very satisfied with the game.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Supported platforms and the release window for <em>Arkanoid \u2013 Eternal Battle<\/em> haven\u2019t been announced yet. According to Microids, further information will be revealed at a later date.
