The official Fate\/Extra Record<\/strong> X account announced on March 16 that distribution of the game through Bandai Namco Entertainment will be cancelled across all planned platforms. The title, a remake of the 2010 turn-based RPG Fate\/Extra, was scheduled to release on Steam, PS and Switch in Spring 2026. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bandai Namco Entertainment does not go into detail about the decision. The publisher apologized for the inconvenience and announced that all pre-orders will be cancelled, with customers receiving full refunds for any payments already made. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Developer Type-Moon Studio BB (Notes Co. Ltd.) also made a separate announcement<\/a>, where it clarified that work on Fate Extra\/Record itself has not been cancelled. Regarding publishing, the company commented: \u201cFollowing mutual discussion, Notes and Bandai Namco Entertainment decided to reassess the project, including making changes to the development structure. Consequently, we have decided to change the distributor going forward.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
