It\u2019s been a long time coming, but after abducting Grace Ashcroft at the Wrenwood Hotel and chasing Leon Kennedy throughout Raccoon City (on a motorcycle, no less), it\u2019s time to put Victor Gideon down for good. Resident Evil Requiem<\/strong>\u2019s true final boss requires you to release Elpis beforehand, and is a fitting conclusion to Capcom\u2019s latest entry in the survival horror franchise. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Victor\u2019s human form is all about parrying and evasion <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The majority of\u00a0Victor\u2019s attacks in his human form come from his new tentacle appendage.\u00a0These consist of a single swipe, a double swipe, a three-hit combo, and a thrust attack that covers a lot of ground.\u00a0While\u00a0they\u00a0may look intimidating,\u00a0all of\u00a0the tentacle\u00a0attacks\u00a0are\u00a0very telegraphed and\u00a0can\u00a0be\u00a0easily\u00a0parried.\u00a0Make use of the pauses between Victor\u2019s attacks to shoot him in the head.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Dealing enough damage to Victor will cause him to stumble.\u00a0Similar to\u00a0bosses like the\u00a0Chunk<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Super Tyrant<\/a>, a melee attack prompt will appear, allowing you to get a few extra hits in before capping off with a finisher.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Victor will also\u00a0sometimes\u00a0kick\u00a0you\u00a0when you get too close to him. While it takes some time\u00a0for him\u00a0to get his leg up, it can catch you off\u00a0guard. Be sure to keep your distance so you\u00a0don\u2019t\u00a0get\u00a0a boot to the\u00a0face like I did.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Watch out for Victor\u2019s channeled electricity strikes and jump attack <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As the fight continues, Victor will occasionally pull himself up to an elevated position and begin channeling the blue electricity in the arena into his body. Several tendrils will start to pop out of him, signaling that pulses of the blue stuff will start emanating from him and making their way toward you. Make sure you have enough room to your left or right to avoid the electrical pulses, and be extra mindful of the jump attack that follows, as its pulse has a bigger circumference than the previous ones. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Victor will remain in a superhero landing pose after his jump attack, giving you ample time to shoot him in the head.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Phase two has you focusing on the Victor monster\u2019s pustules <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

After Victor has taken enough damage, a cutscene will play, and he will transform into a Nemesis-like entity similar to the final boss of Resident Evil 3. Just like that battle and your fight with Plant 43 in this game, you\u2019ll want to focus on Victor\u2019s weak points, which are the glowing red pustules on its head and arms.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Destroying the three main pustules on Victor\u2019s head and arms will cause him to stagger and reveal several more pustules on the lower half of his body. As these are clumped tightly together, you can quickly destroy them with your machine guns, shotguns, or a hand grenade or two.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Don\u2019t forget about Victor\u2019s arm smashes <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Victor has only a few attacks in this phase, which consist of a single arm smash, two alternating smashes, and an overhead smash with both arms, all of which can be parried by your tiny hatchet. He will also rapidly slam the ground with his arms after destroying the pustules on his lower body, which can be avoided by keeping your distance from him. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Destroy some more pustules to finish this encounter <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

After Victor executes his rapid slam attacks, another round of pustules will appear on his head and arms, requiring you to repeat the process. There are five pustules this time around, followed by several that spawn on his lower body after he gets stunned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Victor will grab you with one of his arms after you destroy all of his pustules. Though this may seem like a new attack, all you have to do here is complete a series of inputs to finish him off for good. Congratulations, you just finished Resident Evil Requiem! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
