After completing a tense sniping escort scene in the outer gardens of the Rhodes Hill Chronic Care Center, Leon will come face-to-face with a new type of enemy: the Blister Borne. This biohazard threat hits hard but is especially deadly because of its ability to convert nearby zombies into more powerful Blister Heads. Unlike other boss fights in Resident Evil Requiem<\/strong>, which rely on memorizing attack patterns, your first encounter with a Blister Borne is more about crowd control and map knowledge. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aim for the cysts on the Blister Borne\u2019s front and back <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Similar to the Regeneradores from Resident Evil 4, the Blister Borne has weak points all over its body. Unlike its predecessor, whose Las Plagas parasites were hidden and could only be seen using a special scope, the cysts on the Blister Borne are easily visible and glow bright orange. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Three cysts are located on the enemy\u2019s front, while one can be found on its back. Powerful weapons like the MSBG 500 Shotgun you found during the Chunk boss fight and your newly acquired Classic 70 Rifle will allow you to engage the Blister Borne from either close or long range, respectively. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Avoid or parry the Blister Borne\u2019s strikes while dodging its charge attack <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Blister Borne isn\u2019t just big for show. In addition to its swipes (all of which can be parried with your hatchet), it has an unparryable charge that deals a lot of damage. The Blister Borne will roar loudly before running at you, so be sure to keep a safe distance and plan an exit route.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beware the Blister Borne\u2019s red gas and the Blister Heads that are born from it <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Aside from the Blister Borne, several regular zombies will make the encounter much harder. Regardless of whether you eliminate them or not, the Blister Borne will occasionally exude a large cloud of red gas, which turns all zombies in the vicinity (even dead ones) into Blister Heads. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Blister Heads are faster, more aggressive, and have more health than standard zombies, so be sure to stay away from them whenever possible. If you manage to stun one, a hatchet prompt will allow you to quickly\u00a0eliminate\u00a0it from the fight.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

If you\u00a0find yourself becoming overwhelmed, make your way up the stairs near the chapel altar. Not only will this funnel enemies into a tight space, but you can also use\u00a0the explosive canister at the top to thin the herd.\u00a0The second floor of the chapel\u00a0isn\u2019t\u00a0too wide, though, so be sure to jump down to the first floor when things get\u00a0hairy. The staircase will eventually be blocked off the longer the fight goes on, so be sure to use it while you can.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throwables, supplies, and an explosive canister await on the first floor <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

By now, you should have dealt with a good number of enemies. After luring most of the active ones to the second floor and jumping down, you can pick up your spoils on the first floor with relative ease. Take a breather and use whatever is available to eliminate the remaining zombies\/Blister Heads and the Blister Borne. Throwables such as axes are great for stunning foes, and an explosive canister (provided you haven\u2019t used it yet) provides some extra firepower if you\u2019re running low on ammo. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unfortunately, defeating your first Blister Borne does not reward you with anything other than a pat on the back and the knowledge that you\u2019ll live to see another day. A cutscene plays soon after defeating the last enemy, so be sure to loot whatever you can find before it triggers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
