Dynasty Warriors Origins\u2019s <\/strong>\u201cVisions of Heroes\u201d DLC expansion is set to launch on January 22, introducing four new \u201cWhat If\u201d scenarios left untold in the main game, new companion characters, new weapons and a Training Ground mode. Ahead of launch, Omega Force studio director and Origins producer Tomohiko Sho talked to Famitsu<\/a> about his ideas for the title\u2019s future. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

While Sho has previously already hinted<\/a> at having plans for a sequel to Dynasty Warriors Origins, it looks like one more game might not be enough to tell the whole story of the potential continuation. \u201cAs I\u2019ve mentioned in interviews around the time of release, originally, this game was conceived with a two-part structure: this title would depict the story up through The Battle of Red Cliffs, and if there were to be a follow-up, it would cover events up through The Battle of Wuzhang Plains.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, once development of Origins was complete, Sho says he realized the game covered the events up to The Battle of Red Cliffs\u00a0in far more detail than\u00a0he\u2019d\u00a0originally\u00a0anticipated.\u00a0\u201cI\u00a0realized that\u00a0maintaining\u00a0the\u00a0same level of density\u00a0in a single sequel\u00a0while covering\u00a0everything up to The\u00a0Battle of\u00a0Wuzhang\u00a0Plains would be impossible (laughs).\u201d\u00a0From there,\u00a0Omega\u00a0Force began to think that if they were to pursue a sequel, they would have to commit to a trilogy.\u00a0As the producer, Sho\u00a0doesn\u2019t\u00a0confirm any definite plans yet, but\u00a0suggests that the feasibility of future sequels\u00a0will depend on how much the new DLC and main game sell.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Considering Omega Force initially had no plans to develop\u00a0major DLC for Origins\u00a0\u2013\u00a0but decided to do so thanks to the base game exceeding their expectations\u00a0\u2013\u00a0perhaps\u00a0fans’ hopes for a sequel will come true sooner than later.\u00a0Based on Sho\u2019s previous remarks<\/a>, a new entry could possibly give Origins players a much-wanted custom character creator\u00a0too.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
